Poltak Simanjuntak

Seusai menyelesaikan masa belajarnya dari mulai tingkat dasar sampai SMU kemudian melanjutkan studynya ke Perguruan Tinggi Negeri yang ada di Kota Padang (Universitas Andalas).Semasa kuliah Beliau sangat aktif di kegiatan kemahasiswaan/kepemudaan yang paling menonjol adalah di GMKI (Gerakan Mahasiswa Kristen Indonesia). Saat ini beliau terdaftar sebagai salah seorang senior members GMKI.

Ir.Poltak Simanjuntak yang lahir di Tarutung 7 July 1965 beristrikan Boru ni Raja i Marsaulina Romauli br. Sianturi, M.Kes di Karuniai Tuhan 1 (satu) orang putra yang diberi nama Anthony Agung Pratama Simanjuntak.

Di organisasi beliau memang terkenal kritis, yang kelihaian, kecekatan dan keberaniannya melihat situasi dan kondisi untuk mengambil keputusan yang cepat pada saat kondisi sulit memang sering mendapat acungan jempol di kalangan teman-teman seprofesi bahkan orang-orang yang mengenal beliau secara sekilas.

Tindakan-tindakan Beliau yang juga banyak bergaul di kalangan masyarakat, mulai tingkat bawah sampai ke kalangan tokoh agama ini memang terkadang terlihat kontroversial akibat langkah-langkah beliau yang memang menganut sikap sekuler (hasil itu ditentukan oleh tindakan bukan omongan apalagi yang mengatasnamakan agama atau Tuhan).

Sangat patut diancungi jempol dan ditiru perhatian dan masukan-masukan yang telah di berikan terhadap pengembangan website Simanjuntak dimana beliau ini tidak sekedar mengkritik ataupun sekedar memberi masukan, tetapi sosok Poltak Simanjuntak juga mau terjun langsung memberikan waktu, pikiran dan juga tenaga untuk terus meningkatkan mutu dari website ini.

Di balik ketegasan beliau di dalam tugas, namun di kehidupan keluarga, sahabat dan lingkungan beliau sangat proaktif, empaty yang besar terhadap sesama membuat orang ingin dekat dengan beliau.

Di salah satu sudut Kota Pematang Siantar, tepatnya tanggal 7 Maret 1968, lahir seorang anak laki-laki, yang akhirnya diberi nama Fernando dan memiliki marga Simanjuntak. Orang tuanya yang aktif sebagai anggota TNI (CPM), tentu memiliki segudang doa dan harapan akan masa depan sang anak lelaki yang merupakan anak ke-3 dari pasangan Kapten TNI CPM (Purn) Drs. W.A. Simanjuntak dengan boru ni rajai, Sianipar.

“Sejak anak-anak, kami di didik untuk memiliki displin dan bertanggungjawab, dan akhirnya mewarnai seluruh hidup saya, hingga sekarang”, akunya. Dalam, menata hidup yang saya mulai dari “minus”, kerja keras dan displin ternyata sangat menentukan. Prinsip hidup saya, terbentuk dari pengalaman. “Mengusahakan agar tidak menjadi beban orang lain, justru sebaliknya, kesediaan meringankan beban orang lain, ternyata menghasilkan harmoni dalam persahabatan dan kekeluargaan.
“Sepanjang perjalanan hidup saya, baik selama di perantauan, maupun setelah kembali ke kampung kelahiran di Siantar, prinsip hidup ini tetap saya pegang teguh. Dan, untuk ukuran saya, sejauh ini menghasilkan kebaikan bagi saya dan keluarga”, ungkap Fernando dengan penuh penekanan.

Fernando yang telah dikaruniai 3 (tiga) orang anak, 2 (dua) orang putra : Jhonson dan Nickson, serta 1 (satu) putri : Felinda, yang lahir dari istri boru Tambunan, ternyata aktif tidak sebatas membina keluarga, tetapi aktif dalam berbagai organisasi, seperti :

  • Penasehat Koran Radar Siantar

Di tengah kesibukan sebagai ayah dari 3 (tiga) orang anak dan aktivis organisasi sosial, beliau dikenal luas sebagai Pengusaha Muda yang sukses di Pematang Siantar. Paling tidak ada 3 (tiga) unit usaha yang digeluti secara profesional, yaitu :

Bermodalkan prinsip dan pengalaman kerja yang sudah dilalui baik di Jakarta, sebagai Manager PT. Krino Mega Utama dan di Pulau Kijang, PT. Perkasa Agung yang bergerak di bidang Konstruksi Perkapalan, Fernando mengembangkan bisnisnya di tanah kelahiran, Pematang Siantar.

Bangku kuliah di ISTN Jakarta, yang dilaluinya selama 3(tiga) tahun, ternyata masih belum cukup untuk membangun kapasitas dan kapabilitasnya sebagai seorang pengusaha muda, sehingga melanjutkan kuliah di Fakultas Hukum Universitas Simalungun – Pematang Siantar.

Pemegang Sabuk Hitam ini, menyatakan bahwa Karate merupakan salah satu olah raga yang paling disukainya, sebab mampu memberikan keberanian dan kepercayaan diri. Sebagai salah seorang Karateka, Fernando, pernah mengabdikan diri membina pemuda dengan membuka DOJO Karate Tako di Jati Asih Bekasi tahun 1994. “Kalau sekarang, saya tidak mampu melatih lagi”, katanya sambil memegang perut besarnya, dengan senyuman khas seorang anak Siantar.

Kepada www.simanjuntak.or.id, Fernando, mengungkapkan keinginannya untuk mengembangkan Generasi Muda Simanjuntak Sitolu Sada Ina se-Dunia, sebagai salah satu bentuk respon terhadap semakin kompleksnya tantangan di masa depan.
“Simanjuntak, sebagai salah satu elemen masyarakat Batak, tidak bisa tidak harus mempersiapkan diri menghadapi tantangan zaman yang semakin sulit dari tahun ke tahun”, jelasnya dengan mimik serius. Dengan mempersatukan Generasi Muda Simanjuntak, tentu dapat menjadi media dalam mengumpulkan kekuatan sumber daya manusia yang begitu banyak dan beragam, serta tersebar di seluruh belahan bumi ini. Pematang Siantar, boleh jadi menjadi inisiator dengan harapan dapat didukung oleh GM-PSSSI & BB di provinsi, kabupaten/kota yang lain.

“Kalaupun dikatakan bermimpi, saya berharap ini dapat menjadi kenyataan. Ini merupakan pekerjaan besar dan membutuhkan dukungan aktif seluruh Simanjuntak Sitolu Sada Ina, Boru dan Bere”, katanya. Jika, saya dipercaya menakhodai GM-SSSI&B se-dunia, maka saya akan mengajak generasi muda untuk memikirkan program-program kerja yang bermanfaat, berimplikasi luas dan berkesinambungan. Misalnya, program penyediaan beasiswa bagi Simanjuntak, Boru dan Bere yang berprestasi, penyediaan informasi lapangan kerja, penyediaan upaya bantuan hukum (advokasi), dan berbagai program sesuai dengan kebutuhan warga Simanjuntak Sitolu Sada Ina.

Sudah saatnya Simanjuntak Sitolu Sada Ina Boru Bere, menyesuaikan diri dengan perkembangan zaman. Pelayanan adat tidak dijalankan dengan baik, tetapi pelayanan sosial lainnya juga harus menjadi agenda yang disikapi secara responsive dan tepat waktu. “Dengan berdirinya GM-PSSSI&BB, maka berbagai permasalahan dapat diatasi secara mandiri dengan optimalisasi seluruh resources yang dimiliki” katanya penuh keyakinan.
